Evelyn Mae “Evie” Carroway
Evelyn Mae “Evie” Carroway, 81, of Willow Bend, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2023.
Born in Willow Bend, Evie was known for her gentle spirit, quiet strength, and the warmth she brought to everyone around her. She spent over 30 years as a nurse, a calling that reflected her deep compassion and lifelong dedication to caring for others.
Evie’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, extended family, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Carroway.
A woman who found beauty in simple moments, Evie loved tending her rose garden, baking bread, and writing handwritten notes to friends and neighbors. Her kindness was steady, sincere, and deeply felt by all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held on May 25, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Willow Bend Baptist Church, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Willow Bend Cemetery, with a reception at the family home.
Guests are invited to wear pastel or floral colors, as Evie loved spring.
