Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 20, 2025
At Aeterna Legacy, we treat privacy as a core part of remembrance. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control your information.
Information We Collect
- Contact & account info you provide (e.g., name, email) when you use our contact form or log in.
- Memorial content added by family admins/editors: biographies, eulogies, photos, videos, service details, and guestbook entries.
- Technical data such as IP address, device/browser info, and basic logs necessary to operate the site and prevent abuse.
- Payments (later, if enabled): we use a third-party processor; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
How We Use Information
- Provide, secure, and maintain memorial spaces.
- Respond to support requests and send service-related notices.
- Moderate guestbook entries, combat spam/fraud, and enforce our Terms.
- Analyze aggregate usage to improve reliability and performance.
Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell personal information. We may share limited data with trusted service providers who help us operate the site (for example, hosting, email delivery, and security). Those providers are only permitted to use the data on our behalf.
Examples of processors (subject to change): cloud hosting/CDN, transactional email, anti-spam/abuse protection, and (if enabled later) payment processing.
Cookies & Similar Technologies
We use essential cookies (e.g., session cookies) to keep you logged in and secure the site. If/when we add analytics, we will update this section and provide a simple way to opt out where applicable.
Data Retention
We retain account and memorial content while a space is active. If a subscription expires or an owner requests deletion, we follow a reasonable retention period (for backups, dispute resolution, and legal obligations) before irreversible deletion.
Your Choices & Rights
- Access & download: Request a copy of your data.
- Correction: Update inaccurate information.
- Deletion: Ask us to delete account data or memorial content you control.
- Communications: You can opt out of non-essential emails.
To make a request, email support@aeternalegacy.com or contact@aeternalegacy.com. We may need to verify your identity and your authority over a memorial space.
Children’s Privacy
Our services are directed to adults. If you believe a child provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact us and we will take steps to remove it.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we continuously work to improve protections.
International Users
Our infrastructure may process data in the United States and other locations. By using the service, you understand your information may be transferred and processed outside your country.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as we expand features (for example, payments or analytics). We will revise the “Effective date” and, where appropriate, provide notice.
